29th Sept         Hay Dale and Monks Dale

Start      Road side parking opposite small woodland 1 mile north of Wheston

              or 3/4 mile south of the A623, where the road does 2x90 degree

              bends (at Mount Pleasant Farm)                                           

Route    Hay Dale / Monks Dale / Millers Dale /Return via Pennine Bridleway

Notes    Starting point is 1 mile north of Wheston or 3/4 mile south of the

              A623,where the road does 2x90 degree bends (at Mount Pleasant

              Farm). A walk of two halves: firstly down 3 quiet dales with possible  

              pub stop at Millers Dale then return on higher level plateau with

              good views. Some road walking along Pennine Bridleway (maybe

             1.5 miles total) but with a grass verge as an alternative. Monk's Dale

             is rocky and can be slippery if wet - poles may be helpful. 



6th Oct            Longshaw , Bolehill and Padley

Start     National Trust Longshaw Visitor Centre, 

Route   Longshaw Estate/ White Edge Lodge/ Grindleford Station/ Padley

             Chapel/ Hathersage Booths/ Bolehill/ Padley Gorge/ Longshaw.

        Notes   Parking at National Trust P&D car park off B6055 (free to NT

                     members) closest to visitor centre. Toilets and cafe at start. Two

                     short sections of road walking.

13th Oct          Winn Hill Wander

Notes    Stiles and a couple of steepish climbs. Short road walk (third of a

              mile)  before final path back to Hartington.

Notes    Fairly easy going route with few stiles.  Toilets and cafe at 

               Longshaw. Parking at National Trust P&D car park off B6055

              (NT members free) closest to visitor centre. 

If approaching through Wheston turn right at this signpost and continue on this lane until small wood appears on right

All walks leave promptly at 10am

Packed lunch and drink needed
